Healing With Stones and Crystals

We never meant to keep this a secret. We want everyone to know about our room where we keep our healing stones, crystals, minerals, and rock formations. Rocks and minerals make up the non-motile part of our earth. Just because they don’t move like plants, animals, and humans don’t mean that they don’t have energy.

People who use stones as part of their every-day healing can tell you first-hand of their experiences with this splendid part of our earth. Many people say certain stones will cause their hands to tingle. Stones that aren’t compatible with a certain person will give them a headache.

Many people use stones, such as rose quartz, to enhance and improve their oxygen intake. We’ve have women come in and tell us they’ve worn stones in their bras (we really don’t recommend this, as you can get a nasty cut or blister). Make yourself a great necklace or bracelet to get the same effect!

We carry crystal points, tumbled stones in all varieties, specimen pieces, and even some shapes. We also have some of these stones in the form of pendants so you can wear them.

Some of the crystals and stones we carry are: quartz, rose quartz, smoky quartz, amethyst, citrine, sodalite, amber, tanzanite, tektites, scolecite, aragonite, pyrite, bloodstone, apache tears, shiva linghams, apatite, spinel, tiger eye, aventurine, fushite, black tourmaline, amber, icelandic spar. These are just a few.

Please know that our plan is to increase this collection on an ongoing basis. Please don’t hesitate to tell us what you’re looking for.

Sun’s Eye Oils

When we added the Auracacia lines earlier, we loved oils so much that we couldn’t resist adding another line quite different from the essential healing oils. But don’t let this line fool you. The scents are intoxicating and fun to wear, especially if you’re wanting to steer clear of commercial perfumes with all their hidden preservatives and toxic chemicals.

These oils are high quality and go great in diffusers where you can enjoy the scents in a room or even in a necklace diffuser you can wear around your neck so you can enjoy a whiff anytime you want it. We’ve added a fragrant assortment of floral, spicy, and woodsy scents so men and women can enjoy this line.

Many times scents are used in ceremonies to set the mood or to set an intent. When you inhale that fragrance, the psychic centers of your brain are stimulated, opening you up to a more receptive state. This enhances your meditative activities and brings about more satisfactory results. Certain scents can stimulate, relax, or increase libido.

If you haven’t used oils as part of your ceremonies or for personal use, you may find this form of fragrance exciting and creative.

Boiron Homeopathic Remedies Work

Explore The Benefits Of Boiron Homeopathic Remedies

I’d heard the term “homeopathic” used before. I’ve tried herbal supplements, essential oils, tinctures for many of my personal needs throughout the years, but only learned of the amazing benefits of homeopathic remedies just recently. On my way to a show, my spouse and I stopped in a great health food store called Abundant Living in Cleveland, Tn. We always stop by this store on our way to North Carolina each July. I’d noticed my lower back had been sore the past few days, but didn’t think much of it.

As we were browsing around, picking up choice items, we spied displays of blue tubes, which looked like a chap stick tube on first glance. As we read through the display and literature, we discovered a new world of healing. All kinds of tubes for all kinds of ills, ailments, you name it. If you need help sleeping, or reliving stress, or tackling that nasty cold or allergy, it was all there. I was fascinated. On a lark, I picked up my first tube, Kali Carbonicum, which addresses pain in the lower back. I also picked up another tube, Ignatia Amara for nervousness due to everyday stress.

In using these blue tubes, you dispense five tiny pellets into the cap, pull off the cap and let the pellets land under you tongue. Close your mouth, and let them dissolve. Do this three times a day until the tube is empty. There’s enough remedy for about five days. In about two days, the pain was nearly gone! By day four, gone. I had a cold last week, due to allergies, most likely, and I tried the Kali Bicromicum. I saw fast results in comparison to using traditional over-the-counter cold medicine that leaves you dopey and draggy. The remedy kept me alert, feeling better, and cut drastically down on the thick, nasal discharge I had. Before I started the Kali B., I had used almost one roll of toilet paper and filled a whole plastic grocery bag with paper from blowing my nose. On the second day of taking the remedy, the toilet paper and new bag were drastically decreased to a few tosses into the bag.

How To Open a Boiron Blue Tube

The pellets look like nothing more that sugar candy. But don’t be fooled. The sweet taste is to mask any herbal taste. You know how delicious medicine is, right? Okay, point made. So what’s in this? Think about all the herbal remedies and other extracts from products we use to address maladies. These pellets contain elements of these products, and go to the heart of the problem. The ingredients puts your body back in balance, slowly, gently, without the side effects that modern medicine has (though I believe modern medicine has its place). These remedies are not magic bullets, so don’t think you’re going to get an instant fix. They do, however, work faster than you’d think. They’re affordable, and there are multiple choices for all kinds of bodily discomforts and imbalances.

Starting out a tinctures, the products are continually diluted until much of the true product remains, offering a power-packed punch to your problem. The doses commonly seen are 6C and 30C, which means 6C covers a more local area where problems occur, and 30C takes on a more global effect. However, a tincture at 30C has more of the pure active products, and thus is stronger in it’s healing properties, though it’s been diluted up to 30 times. 6C has more crude matter, but still delivers power and cure to the area it addresses. What’s interesting is that a tube’s ingredients also benefit other areas of the body, though it’s chosen to act more on a specific issue.

At Stardust, we carry the 30C blue tubes for the most common conditions, hoping to add more of the line to fit our customers’ needs. Allergy season has kicked in, cold and flu season is around the corner, and there are a host of other conditions you may want deterred or stopped. If you haven’t tried homeopathic remedies, Boiron’s Blue Tubes is a great way to start.

The Joy Of Using Essential Oils

You all asked for them; we finally have them. Essential Oils, that is. No doubt you’ve been hearing about essential oils from people who work as distributors of certain brands, but many of you may be wanting to know what to do with them. First of all, the essential oil is the most concentrated part of the plant, and can be used for aromatherapy and other routines used in skin and body care.

A few drops of oil on a cotton ball or other absorbent material can be instrumental for use in aromatherapy, inhaling the scent to initiate tranquility or revive vitality. Several drops in Jojoba oil can help create a body oil used for pain, inflammation, or other healing needs. Some oils are said to stimulate desire, and are used in “Love” potions.

If you think perfumes and fragrances are over the top, or if you’re allergic to them, keep in mind that commercial perfumes and fragrance have other chemicals in them for shelf life and wear life. Essential Oils, blended into a carrier oil can be a wonderful substitute, where you can enjoy the scent without warding off a whole room of people with a loud smell.

We have a variety of oils for your needs, and all are of the highest quality. If you still need some help in choosing the right oil and how to use it, we have a handy reference chart to help you out. If you like to experiment a little before you spend money on something you don’t need or like, we have testers, so you can sniff and apply a little on your skin to see how something smells on you.

Some of the oils we have are: Peppermint, Lavender, Vetiver, Neroli, Sandalwood, Lemongrass, Orange, Palmarosa, Geranium, Frankincense, Myrrh, and much more.

Consider adding essential oils to your toolbox for improved health.

Note: Any suggestions we give you are just that: suggestions. None of our oils, teas, or spices are meant to be used in place of sound medical advice from a physician or other healthcare specialty. If you have some concerns regarding a health issue, please consult a physician.

Have Fun Drinking Yerba Mate!

gourdbombilla strawHave you ever been in a specialty supermarket and saw those funny silver straws and neat looking gourds? I have, and I bought two gourds and two straws–All because I wanted to drink Yerba Mate the “right” way!

Of course you can always resort to the more modern way. Just steep the Yerba Mate in a cup of hot water and drink. But that’s no fun. But those gourds and straws look so complicated to use. Are they??

Of course not! Unlike Matcha tea (which is super simple to make), you don’t have to wisk anything together, and you don’t have to wait for a while to steep. Once your gourd is “seasoned,” all you do is put in a scoop of tea in your gourd, pour hot water, and sip from your bombilla straw: IT’S THAT SIMPLE!

What does it mean to season your gourd? Seasoning the gourd prepares it better to bring out the flavor of the Yerba Mate so you can enjoy it more. Before you drink from it, put in a scoop of Yerba Mate, add hot water, and let it sit overnight. Do this before going to sleep, and you’ll be ready for a morning dose of Yerba Mate.

When you’ve finished drinking, wash out the contents and dry off the outside of the gourd. Take a couple of paper towels and absorb as much wetness as you can. Store gourds in a dry place. Simple wash the bombilla straws like you would any other utensil.

The bombilla straw is a straining straw. It keeps out tea particles. The nice thing about this straw is that you can use it for ANY tea. Just throw in the tea and drink. Once you’ve invested in these tools, you’re ready to rock and roll with Yerba Mate or any other tea.

We do have some gourds and straws in the shoppe, so come by and check them out. Make your next tea drinking experience a simple and exciting one.

Dancing To A Hot Beat With Peppers

Most of us enjoy a little fire and snap to our meal, some a lot more than others. Several have asked us if we carry Ghost Pepper, and the answer now is YES! Ranked 1 million in Scoville Units, you can only guess a little dab will do you. If you’re cooking chili, you’ll add a teaspoon or tablespoon to the whole pot. Any more than that, and you’ll have smoke coming out your ears!

And for those of you who used more than a dab of Ghost Pepper, milk may work, especially when it stays in your mouth. But one seasoned ghost lover said sucking on a lime helped cure the sting.

If you want something much milder, but still has a spirited spark to it, try Bird’s Eye Peppers. You’ll usually see them as dried tiny little peppers in miniature. When you add them to stews or soups, the liquid will hydrate them and release the oils and flavors. These darlings rate 100,000 in Scoville Units, which is twice as hot as peppers used in tabasco sauce.

Just remember that Stardust carries both these types of peppers. So if you’re looking to spice things up a bit in your dishes, we have what you need!

Let’s Chat About Chaat Masala

You’ve been asking about it; we finally got it in: Chaat Masala!

This seems like a no-nonsense spice, used in India and Pakistan for seasoning fresh fruit, salads, and vegetables. It adds a tangy, hot, spicy flavor to your foods, and can even be found at snack stands where ethnic foods are sold. Just sprinkle and enjoy.

Others have also used in drinks, such as citrus-based drinks, and can be used in yogurt or other sauces. Basically it’s used as a garnish, a way to doll up your food for a good romp in your mouth when you’re hungry.

Apparently, the black salt, one of the ingredients, is responsible for the majority of the taste. In Chaat Masala, here are the usual ingredients you’ll find in it: dried pomegranate seed, cumin, powdered green mango and some other unusual spices, such as Ajwain and Asafeotida. Tellicherry Pepper is another ingredient, and of course, the black salt.

If you don’t want to run around looking for these ingredients, come get this yummy spice from us and save your precious time for enjoying good food!

Taking The Secret Out Of Fenugreek

Fenugreek is a spice that leaves me scratching my head. What on earth is it? And even more, what on earth do you do with it? Actually, this ingredient is quite common in Indian cuisine. But don’t let the raw taste and smell of it fool you. The smell isn’t appetizing, and the taste will make you want to kick yourself for even trying it by itself.

So what does fenugreek taste like when cooked in a meal? Like your favorite breakfast of pancakes smothered with the finest maple syrup, if you can believe that. If you want to try it for yourself, you can always buy a pack and prepare in an Indian dish or with your next skewers of kabobs. This product can be used in different ways, either its leaves or seeds.

If you use the seeds, you’ll have to cook the food longer to bring out the flavor. The leaves can be used in curries. Either way, you’ll get similar flavors. But fenugreek isn’t limited to just Indian cuisine. Try some of this in your next Ethiopian dish.

What goes well with fenugreek? cumin, paprika, and coriander. But remember, a little goes a long way. Too much fenugreek, no matter what you do with it, can still leave you with a bitter taste. Good doses of lemon or lime juices can help balance out the taste. Or try pan-roasting first, which helps cut down on the bitterness.

If you’re looking for something new to play with in the kitchen try your hand at using fenugreek in your next Indian or Ethiopian dish.
